The biggest thing for people who have or had cancer (or other serious health conditions or illnesses) is that in 2014 no one will be denied health insurance for now or previously having a health issue.

Oh, and then there’s the financial assistance part. Individuals with income up to 400% of the federal poverty level (which this year is $88,200 for a family of four) will get help paying for health insurance premiums.

Down side? These things don’t kick in until 2014. But as someone working to make the ACA work for people in my state, I hope people know that people like me are working hard to implement the law and make it work for all Americans.
