No use crying

The days of a parent of a newborn are messy, filled with overflowing emotions, overweaning anxiety, overarching exhaustion, and overwhelming fluids.  Yep, I said it.  Fluids.  While I swore long ago not to turn this into a blog of my newborn’s daily intake and outtake habits, I just want to record for a moment that I, too, struggle with the intake. With the outtake. With the spewing of said intake and outtake and almost-intake and can-you-believe-what-came-outtake of daily life.

At four months, I keep thinking that we’re about to round a corner.  But after a week of five outfit changes a day for both baby AND me, I don’t think we’re even halfway down the block yet.

And that’s all I’m sayin’.

I often go through five outfits a day, but only because I thought I looked fat in the first four.

You just wait, Canape — your turn will come!

And boy, wait’ll your outfit options include: those with spit-up stains, those with milk stains, those that the toddler has stretched out the collar, those that fit during pregnancy, and those that never quite fit but will do in a pinch and now are closet mainstays.

Me, I’ve just tossed them all — but it’s a neverending quest to stay properly dressed these days!
