Ten more

Challenge: come up with ten more positive notes for the weekend.

These are the things that make me happy.

I was able to write.  Really write.  All day, while my husband played with the kids;

Completed some NASA reviews that have been hanging over my head, undone, for too long;

The bills are paid, the paperwork is done, the receipts are filed;

The Women in Planetary Science blog and twitter have been updated;

Stimey is feeling better; Canape had her first kiss;

Jessica’s campaign to help St. Jude is still making me feel all squiggly inside;

I’m thinking about going to Kennedy Space Center to view a launch next month;

My first lymphedema therapy session starts on Monday.  The evaluation went really well, and she says that she can help.  Today, my upper arm is swollen 4 cm; my hand and fingers greater than 15%.  We’ll see if she can bring them back to normal before my March conference.  No, wait, I am confident that she can;

Working in my beautiful new office is a joy.  It’s mine, all mine, and it’s where I can don my secret identity as a NASA researcher, unburdened by things like diaper duty; and

Coming out of the office at last to hug my wonderful husband and children, returning to Mom.

    I’m happy to be part of this list. And it’s a GOOD list.

    I was sorry to see the old masthead pic go, but the new one is so wonderful and perfect for you!

    It’s good that you’re focusing on the positive (not in a cancer sense!) — that’s great that you’re savoring the little things we should all savor every day — but please don’t hesitate to also “BMC” a little when you have One of Those Days!

    BTW — The lymphedema PT’s gear bag was truly classic — I’d love to know what you said to her when you finished laughing!

  3. I love the new look! Beautiful! Thinking of you this week…

  4. I love this idea of ending the day with 10 things that make me happy. I’m wondering if starting the day with a list wouldn’t set the mood right for me as well?

    Stumbled upon your site and am very taken with it. Love the positive vibe and agree with you 110% on St. Jude’s. Keep the faith and your fantastic outlook! Positive attracts positive. Put your greatest wish out there for the universe to answer.

    Moira, I can’t tell you how nice that was to hear. Welcome!

    Oh, and my greatest wish? Not surprisingly, a cure for cancer. A cure that doesn’t break the body so irreprably in the process.
