51 Women in Planetary Science

At the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference, the morning before it all fell apart for me, I led a meeting of 154 women in planetary science. We talked about the issues, shared resources, committed to future information-sharing and informal mentoring, and I personally made a commitment to an expansion of my outreach project for NASA. Egged on by a male colleague who didn’t think it could be done, I committed — in public — to drafting and featuring a series of fifty-one successful women in planetary science on the website this year.

The project was unfortunately on hold due to my illness for a while, but I’m happy to announce that it’s back up and running. To make up the time, we’re featuring two women a week over at Women in Planetary Science, and I’m extremely happy with the features and the pace. To meet them, hop on over — there are some amazing women over there, and more to come, every Tuesday and Friday!

    What Stimey said 🙂
